Questions, answered against what actually runs today.
Not a list of hypotheticals — every answer below is checked against the current product, not the plan for it. Skip to what you're actually asking:
What does Pruvato actually do?
You receive an RFQ — on WhatsApp, by email, as an Excel sheet or a PDF. We read it, work out which products each line refers to, apply your prices and your commercial rules, and prepare a quotation for someone on your team to review and send.
Is this just ChatGPT with a form on top?
No. A language model reads the RFQ, because that part is genuinely messy. Everything involving money is deterministic — your price list, your margin floors, your discount limits, your approval thresholds. We don't let a model decide whether a 9% margin is acceptable.
What makes it different from the quoting in my accounting system?
Your accounting system can store a quote. It can't read a WhatsApp message, work out that “SCH MCB 20A” is an A9F74120, remember that this particular customer always means Ducab, or route a thin-margin quote to a named approver. We sit in front of your accounting system, not beside it.
What if we don't use an ERP at all?
That's fine. Plenty of traders run on Excel. Upload your product list and price list and the product works the same way.
How accurate is the matching?
It depends on what's in your RFQs and how much of your own data we have. Rather than quote a number that wouldn't mean anything for your business, we'd rather run it on your actual RFQs and show you — try the live demo on one.
What happens when it isn't sure?
It says so. Three outcomes per line: we identified it, we found several possibilities and you pick, or we couldn't identify it. The third splits further — either your description didn't say enough to choose, or we don't cover that brand yet, and we tell you which.
So I still have to check everything?
You review what the system couldn't resolve on its own, and the quote still stops for a named person before it goes anywhere. The change isn't that review disappears — it's that you're reviewing exceptions instead of building the whole quotation from scratch.
Will it send a quote to my customer without me seeing it?
No. Every quote stops for a named approver. There is no automatic-send path.
Does it get better over time?
Yes, and that's the point. Each time someone on your team confirms what a description means, the system remembers it for your company. The second month is faster than the first.
So the first week is the worst it will ever be?
Yes, and we'd rather say that up front than have you discover it. Early on, the system knows products but not your customers' habits. It learns those from your team.
Where is our data stored?
In the UAE. Full detail on what's collected and why is on our Privacy Policy.
How long does onboarding take?
The main variable is your product and price data. If it's already in Zoho or a reasonably tidy spreadsheet, it's quick. If it's spread across several places, we'll tell you what we need and roughly how long it'll take before you commit to anything.
Our product data is a mess.
That's normal, and it's most of what we do. You don't need to clean it up before talking to us.
Do we have to change how we receive RFQs?
No. Customers keep sending them however they send them now. Your team forwards them to us.
Which products do you cover?
Right now the catalogue is deepest in cables, circuit protection and wiring accessories. Anything outside that still appears on the quote with its description, quantity and unit carried through — you price those lines yourself, and the quotation is still complete.
What about very large BOQs?
They work, but the bigger and more specialised a BOQ is, the more lines will come back for review. We'd rather show you on one of your own before making a claim about it — try it on the live demo.
Do you take a percentage of our quotations?
No. You pay per user. We're not taking a cut of your sales.
Is there a trial?
Design partners get two months free with a cap on total line items. When it ends you'll get clear notice rather than a sudden stop, and everything your system has learned stays yours.
Can I try it without talking to anyone?
Yes — paste an RFQ on this site and see what comes back. No signup to see the result.
Why doesn't the demo show prices?
Because we don't know yours, and we're not going to invent them. The demo proves the hard part, which is identifying what the products are. Prices come from your own price list.
Can I send the demo quotation to a customer?
No. It has no prices, no branding and no customer details. It's a demonstration of the matching, not a usable quotation.
It couldn't identify some of my lines.
There are two reasons and we'll tell you which. Either the description didn't say enough to pick one product — which usually means it was ambiguous for your salesperson too — or we don't cover that brand yet, which is our gap, not yours.
What happens to the RFQ text I paste in?
It's used to run the demo and shown back to you on screen. Nothing is sent to a customer, and nothing is shared into another tenant's catalogue without asking first. On your first successful match we set one first-party cookie — an opaque id, lasting about a year — so we can tell a returning visitor from a new one, and we keep the pasted text itself for up to 30 days to see how the demo is actually used. Never used to track you elsewhere. Full detail on our Privacy Policy.
Does this help with UAE e-invoicing?
Not directly. E-invoicing applies to invoices, transmitted as structured data through an Accredited Service Provider. We produce quotations, and we are not an Accredited Service Provider. What we do help with is upstream: a quote built from correctly identified products, real part numbers and correct units becomes an invoice that's less likely to fail validation later. More on the e-invoicing mandate itself.
When do the deadlines apply to us?
Businesses at or above AED 50 million in turnover appoint a service provider by 30 October 2026 and go live 1 January 2027. Below that threshold, appointment by 31 March 2027 and go-live 1 July 2027. Most trading companies we speak to are in the second group. Checked against the Ministry of Finance, 13 September 2026 — see the full breakdown.
Who's behind this?
One person, right now, not a company yet — see who's building this for the full story.
Still have a question this page doesn't answer?
The fastest way to find out is to see it on your own RFQ, or ask directly.
